We are two sleeps away from our trip to Cape Keraudren again. Hopefully if the internet gods allow we will keep our family and friends updated on our trip. We are looking forward to the sun (given the current weather up there we may be optomistic - but that's us!).
Monday 1 July
Well we are here and set up. The drive up was uneventful. The Quantum towed beatifully and we made very good time. We left Perth at about 4pm on Friday 28 June and travelled about 400km to a camp site just out of Wubin (Jibberding Rocks). On Saturday we were up very early and hit the road by 5.30am. This was a long day and we travelled over 1000 km before camping for the night at a 24 hour road stop north west of Newman (Mt Robinson). Sunday was a little more leasurely and we were on the road by 6.00am. We travelled though Port Hedland and pulled in to Pardoo Roadhouse at just after 11.00am to fill up with water. This took some time as a couple were there filling up their Kedron Van and it took forever. We eventually made it to the Cape at about 12 noon. The rest of the afternoon was spent setting up our home away from home. In the evening we joined a few of the regulars at the camp for a couple of drinks around the campfire. As you can imagine, we were pretty bushed so we didn't stay long and headed off to eat, shower and hit the sack. Today we took a little easier, pottering around camp getting things just how we like them and relaxing. We have enough wood for a couple of nights and will probably head out tomorrow to get some more. Unfortunately fishing or kayaking are off the agenda as there is a VERY strong wind blowing and it is expected to last for a few more days. We are not overly concerned as we don't mind just chilling. We will post some photos very soon.
