Yesterday was the first birthday that we celebrated without Mum. Her passing earlier this year meant she didn't get to share her 75th with us all. Unfortunately my brother, Darrell and his fiancee Bess were working in Darwin so they couldn't be there with us, but they were there in spirit, as was Annette's husband Brenton. It was a low key, quiet day, but the weather was beautiful and Dad used Mum's last gift to him to cook a wonderful lamb roast. I was there to assist with his first ever experiment with a Weber Q, but really I wasn't needed! He had everything easily in hand and I think can now "fly solo".
We toasted Mum with one of her and Dad's favourite Talijancich Shiras. It was superb!
We all miss Mum, but she is living on in our thoughts and memories.
